Agreed, I just can't imagine a pontiac being better, but in person, perhaps that's the case.

And my interior will be a different game completely in the G No more orange, well, unless I click that button.

Well unless I buy a M5, there's going to be compromises. In this car, it's the interior. Motor, tranny, suspension and body styling are all there for me.

I've never used mine, but I don't have a garage, either, lol. I can see how someone would be dependant on it after having it though. Agreed on black out. Look forward to the progress dude, PM me when you figure out your for sale items, I could use a few things prolly.

Well two of my boys have the G8 GTs , one has it in white and the other has it in the Orange. Both are awesome! but for some reason my boy who has it in orange only has 36k miles on it and is already experiencing a few problems with it, all mainly electrical and thank god for warranty, Short in his radio, Tire pressure sensor went insane one day, Lost ABS to the car for a few days, glove compartment door pops open even tho he doesnt have anything leaning against it, belt makes a squeaking sound til the car hits operating temperature lol ... not trying to talk you out of it because my friend who has the white one has not one problem with it so i really don't know but over all there really fun and pretty quick. but my friend with the orange is selling it for 335 awd chipping it and is an M3 Killer

Hey Jeff, just saw this thread.... Didn't know your G was totaled, that's sad

As for the G8, dude I wouldn't hesitate for a second to purchase one. My cousin has one and I just love the power and the sounds it makes. The AT is very nice as ATs go, and the engine is very simple, pretty much any mechanic will know their way around it because it's almost identical in layout to the LS1s dating back to 97, only in this case, there's a lot more 'working room' under the hood compared to the Trans-Ams and Corvettes with LS motors.

---- edit... oops. Just saw, you got it enjoy dude!

Idk if I agree. I think black hides the car's lines more than most of the other available colors

Thanks. Now that I've been driving it for a few weeks, I can comment. It's BIG. When I put the hammer down, the engine pulls hard from 1,000 rpm. Gotta love 6.0 2 valve V8s. Power peaks out faster but eh..... The torque is freight train linear from idle to redline. the suprisiing thing is how rattle free and stable the car is. It really does handle pretty well for it's size/weight. Hell it handles well period. And it's not like this thing is new. It has 40k on the odometer.

The auto 6sp is nice. A little soft and a little slow but nothing a TCM reflash isn't going to fix. The manumatic is very nice too. Even in manual mode, it starts off in 2nd as the default. If you start in 1st, it's almost worthless. Especially if you floor it. You had better have your hand on the shifter because redline comes up fast.

Now that it's not been raining 24hours a day, I had a chance to wash and take a good look at the paint. The dealer of course hologramed it to death and even missed a bunch of spots. It's going to need a 3 step polish because they only did a quick medium polish to make it shiny and not have to do the final step. They ignored the deeper scratches the medium polish missed and didn't 2nd step it to get rid of the swirl markks. Duh!
