Why does this happen?

Okay, I don't know if this only happens when the car is cold but when I clutch in when shifting from 1st to 2nd, it isn't smooth. The car jerks a little bit and it just isn't right. It's hard to explain. Then, when putting it into 2nd, it isn't smooth either. Im not talking about engaging. Just moving the shifter from 1st to 2nd.. It sounds like the gears aren't going in smoothly. When I clutch in and go into any other gears, it is smooth. Again, Im not talking about actually engaging the gears.. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Sounds like you need to rebuild your transmission. How many miles on the car?

i believe thats normal for most G's... its a clunky gearbox especially 1st to 2nd, and especially when cold...
