2004 G35x Exhaust Leak
Frozen
Re-crue, what causes the throttle body valve to get frozen? I know it's cold out but my car is not garage kept unfortunately. I need a new one or should I inspect it by manually turning the valve? Can I have the vehicle started for me and watch the TB to see what it does, can I even See the this with the engine cover on, I never really checked it out... Let me know please.
Thanks,
Joe

First I would recommend doing the steps above and see if it gets you anywhere, if not then get a code reader even if you're cel/ses light isn't coming on. As for the TB, it is capable of freezing slightly which is why Tony/Motordyne designed the Copper Heater for the TB, get it by itself or with their plenum spacer. Again first do the reset procedures, if they don't help see which code it is giving you.
Here is a link to a video so you can actually see what is happening.
Because before I run these steps I want to make sure it's absolutely needed, I am not trying to make matters worse. I have not messed around with this type of vehicle enough to feel confident.

okay I did it...
I did all the steps this evening and ill wait overnight to test the action. Im not really sure if this is going to fix the problem but im staying happily optimistic and again I thank you for everyone's help.
Okay guys ---
It started up, the RPM's dropped extremely low I almost thought it was going to die out on me. I was about to press the gas pedal just before it cranked back up, I might have hit the pedal a TINY bit as it was about to die however I don't think that is what caused it to stay on.
So I think your advice fixed the problem - it even sounds like it may be running better, is that possible?

Sounds like you got most of it and maybe you'll be OK.
However your problem reminds me of what I went through with mine dying when cold and it was cured completely by getting the throttle body cleaned and then going through the idle air volume relearn procedure.
What I've been told is that dirt/carbon in the throttle body causes the plate to stick and the throttle motor just doesn't have enough torque to break it free sometimes and/or the plate doesn't close all the way causing a lean-out condition.
Might want to try that.
