So I finally got around to messing with this a bit again. I gave up for now on allignment, because I'm simply sick of looking at a primered trunk lid.

So I wetsanded it all down

And painted it. It turned out like crap, I need to let it cure and wetsand it again to see if I can smooth it out. Again, this car is getting a full body makeover and paint eventually so burning a lot of time on it now is hard to justify. I just want it halfway to half-a$$sed for now.

So when I tried to buff the lines from spray painting it on the top, I kind of botched it up. Guess I didn't wait long enough for it to cure, dunno.

Anyways I got back at it with the buffer again today, only got the top done, may as well ***** some pics off.

I've also got a plan to fix the gap at the left lower piece. I'm actually going to bring the tailight and lwer piece out a bit to match, as you can't really do any more with the FG.

A little update. I buffed this to as good as it gets without re-painting again.

I found a local guy that can make me one from the old trunk (go figures I find him AFTER all this, LOL.)
So I am going to do that, I'll post the results whenever he finishes it, and then I'll sell this trunk off.

Here's a couple recent snaps, probably be the last of pics of this HD trunk on my car.

So maybe I missed it, but how does this improve the stock design?
