i dont get the craze about the HD trunk for sedans, personally i dont think it flows well at all. My preference would be the strafespeed v2 trunk alot cleaner imo.

The only reasons I'm not hopping on the V2 trunk:

1) I don't like how it sticks out so much when viewed from the side, think it looks off
2) Strafe has been aweful for CS so far, the business ethics are worse, and the reviews around the Net only confirm my impressions of the company.
3) Shipping plus initial cost to Canada would put me over $1000 and I still have to paint and fit it

its not too angled thats why i like it, kinda like the newer g37 sedans. The HD is way more curved out from the side isnt it? plus, the fitment issues on the v2 arent great either (from what ive heard) =\

We all have our different flavour. Like I said, I like the K2, just not near as much as the HD style.

All personal preference. I"m hoping they can make me one thicker with the same mould prior to installing the frame, I don't know yet 100% which route to go.

As I mentioned in PM Dustin, my dealings with you were pleasant and professional.

The gentleman that owns the company.... not so much. And actually, you DID quote me on this trunk with shipping up to me. I'll be sure not to post the PM to verify this though as last time I did I was pounced on by your boss.

No hard feelings over here, I was just explaining why the V2 trunk wasn't an option for me. I've heard good things about your trunks, rightfully so, they are made by a decent company (VIS).

I've had nothing but good dealings with strafe. I bought the first K2 from them, fitment was good, just not perfect (as no fg front bumper is)

gl on your lip, you have a lot of good ideas

Update

Ok, so I ended up getting the HD trunk, in FG.

Big thanks to Eric at Baus Auto, this guy put up with a ton of inquires from me regarding lips alongside a bunch of other stuff, and he was nothing less than incredible to deal with. Also seems he can get pretty much anything, again, awesome dude, we'll be working together again Eric, rest assured.

Now that I'm done kissing ****. Eric was able to get them to make the HD trunk thicker than normal, which is why I decided to bite the bullet and just try it. I was happy to see the thickness, it's still super light, but definately solid

I didn't get a chance to upload pics before work of the test fit, but it's gonna need some loving. This wasn't a big surprise to me, so it is what it is.

I sanded the gaps no problem, they look perfect, literally. The issue though, is the left lower corner, it's sticking out a decent 1/4"

I cannot deal with that, so i will try to do some fanciwork to get it at least marginally better. Aside from this one daunting issue, all the other complaints about the HD trunk are lost on me. Sure, it'll need a skim coat of epoxy/bondo because of light perforation style spots, but nothing drastic. It also desperately needs a lighter sanding with a finer grit. Basically, it's rough, but nothing that can't be fixed up in prep work. And sanding the gaps (edges) was so simple a 12 year old could do it.

I think, most of the complaints are from guys who are expecting to be handed a trunk that can be mounted and adjusted for $350.... no.... you can't have that, sorry. If you want it 'ready to mount' without any messing around, you have to pay the big bucks. In my case, shipping killed me, so I'm already in for about $600+ after shipping and taxes. But not bad at all, much, much less that I was quoted through other places. Also much less than it would've costed to even get started on a lip.

More pics to come of the progress on my customization to get this thing up to my standards.

Pic update

Edit, forgot I had my camera in the car so i have a couple pics

Before any sanding, not attatched to hinges:

Couple quick snaps, as it sits on the car for now. Edges sanded, latch not adjusted yet, still have work to do, obviously.

Sorry to those of you, (and me) that I didn't go with the custom lip. I wanted to, if I weren't in Canada, I surely would've, or if I wasn't a single dad and had more time.

Either way, I'm happy so far, this trunk looks soooo effing good.
