Updated links for potentials, Link #1 is top of my list if the dimensions are good. I'm eagerly, eagerly waiting on dimensions!!!

#2 just doesn't flow as well with the G's lines, looks great on the benz. The work needed to match the lines would mean hacking up the spoilers ends a considerable amount and basically re-making them.

It's for this reason I'd prefer #1, the lines on the side are much closer to the G's lines. I'm trying to match that tailight line

If you were in SoCal you could just take your car over to Auto Explosion draw a picture for them of exactly what you wanted and they would make it happen.

A PS of one of the Benz spoilers on the G, it's out of proportion and I don't like it but thought I'd post it none-the-less.

I think I'm going ot just get the HD trunk and reinforce it/fix it to my standards prior to install. I have too much going on to map out a whole new design.

Anyway here it is for you guys that want to get agressive.

I'm a lil late too the party. I will post as a owner of both hd and strafe decklids. I got the hd decklid first. Quality is pretty poor. You make your own gaps by sanding down the edges. The Fg is really thing. Will never be straight as the Fg is too thin. After I painted mine I had air bubbles come up in the Fg and had to repair those and repaint the decklid. As far as fitment I got it really close but the right side corner by the taillight sticks out. On the strafe v2 that I have quality is great along with the gaps. The lines are off a lil but if i put time I think I could get it to fit really close to oem as a lot of oems aren't perfect either.

Goodluck with trying to reinforce it. I thought about that but with the way the inner skeleton is on the inside it will be difficult. Considering i do a lot of bodywork and deal with aftermarket parts all the time it won't be easy. Either way get what decklid you like but expect alot of work on the hd decklid

Thanks for the advice man! Very helpful especially from someone with experience in body work, etc.

I haven't got a response on the HD trunk yet but was hoping to just try it. I know I'm likely not going to be pleased but I also can't justify the level of messing around to get exactly what I want at this juncture. I just simply haven't got the time.

If I lived close to somewhere that stocked lip spoilers I'd just run over and test a bunch out until I got close, then off to the body shop. But trying to map out curves and get dimensions from suppliers has been all but impossible.

Basically I'd be into $1000+ just to get a lip integrated, and thats still with the risk of the lip not being 100%

So unless someone can find the E-Class lip that was used to make the HD trunk in the first place for less than $500, I'm SOL on getting a lip integrated at this time.

It sucks, I dislike it. I wanted to do this very bad. And I'm sure I eventually will, i just can't do it now.
To top it off all of the 5 body shops I've contacted about 3 times each to get something rolling have failed to return my calls.

Also I like the K2 trunk but it's not for me.

Dayum good call man that looks great, I don't know if the curve in the side profile of the trunk will work on the G though. Hmmm.

I really should just plug the spoiler holes in my trunk and ride it out until I can get this sorted.....

I also thought about paying more for the CF version of the HD trunk, I'm sure it'd be better, but then I realized how dumb that idea was
