Over the weekend i was in niagara, ontario. and when leaving a parking garage, i didn't notice how it came up kinda like a speed bump, so i ended up scraping under neath my car, realized that the under shroud part or some plastic cover underneath had come loose and is hanging a bit, i still need to fix it, but when the car is in idle, or just put into drive (no accelerating) i'll hear a rattling noise like a can rattling coming from the front end of the car, when i drive the noise is gone. i'll take some pics of the damage underneath and hopefully upload a video as well.

from what i've read online, it could be a loose heat shield?

any input would help guys, is this serious issue or what?

Pic would definitely help! I rememeber when I put my coupe midpipe on it would vibrate and rattle on the heat shield. I used the dull handle part of my flat head screw driver and pushed it in. Kinda like rolling fenders buy not really lol

I have that same issue right now. I'm thinking of just removing the heat shield

 

if you take a look at the pics i got a plastic cover hanging down, i'm gonna make sure every thing is tightened up and see if i still get that noise

 

I have used radiator style clamps to tighten a heatshield back to the pipe before. Quick easy way to stop the annoying rattle while retaining the heat shield.
