So ive been having issues with a caliper getting stuck in the rear. So today i finally got time to pull it apart. My goal was to just clean it up n put it back together to see if that would fix the problem. In the process one of the caliper bolts snapped inside the caliper bracket. I have the caliper bracket removed but couldnt get the rest of the bolt out of the bracket. Hit it with screw loose and pb blaster with no success. Tried drilling it out and that didnt work either. Didnt budge.
So i basically plan to get a new caliper bracket. Bolt is still stuck in there and the bracket is a little damaged now. Ive checked a few local auto parts stores and all they carry is the front. Was wondering if the front and rear are interchangeable and thats why they only carry the front? Also im assuming an Infiniti dealer should carry it? Any help on where to get it, part number, etc would be greatly appreciated. thanks

You can get a whole rebuilt caliper from Rock Auto for around $35. The front calipers are dual piston and the rear are single (at least the rwd have 2 piston front) so they are not interchangeable. I know the 05x had the smaller brakes, but the fronts will still be larger than the rear and not interchangeable.

I just replaced a seized rear caliper on my '06x, and it came with the bracket. Not sure if they'll nail you on the core charge since yours is kinda screwed up, but at least you'll get a fresh bracket, caliper, and bolts.
Like u said I have to buy a caliper to get the bracket. Only found two places that sell the rear caliper locally. Infiniti wanted $250 for a new one with bracket. Local store(not chain) wanted $75 with bracket. The brand is A1 Cardone. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? What I plan to do is just use the bracket for now if it matches up with oem caliper.
Bracket fit good. Didn't install the caliper so i can't comment on performance. Just updating incase anyone else runs into the same problem

I had to use the Cardone caliper because that was all my local parts guy had in stock. It is working well do far. Basically, its a refurbished OEM part - the one I swapped into my car had OEM part numbers and markings on the brackets and caliper bolts.Originally Posted by drinknother1
