Upgraded my front brakes :)

So I got a steal on a set of 2007 350z twin piston brakes.

Install went flawless (or as good as good be lol) Only did the fronts. I dont think the rears are going to do anything else. Plus I dont want to screw around with the parking brake crap.

a few before and after pics

I wanted brembo's (like everybody else) BUT instead of dropping a Grand on brembos this is the next best for a fraction of the price.

Using whatever rotors and Hawk HPS pads

Oh and if you are thinking to yourself that the rotors look the same from old to new, they are not even close. The Z set up rotors are about 1"+ larger in diamater and almost twice as thick. I'll snap some more pics later to show you.

Yup. But you have to watch the clearace... My G coupe wheels have lots, I dunno about other 17's etc.

Gotta let the pads seed in and the braking should be a huge difference. I can already feel the extra stopping power! I wont wrench on them for another 500km or so.

Do the rears, it won't affect the parking brake at all.

In the second picture it looks like because of the camera angle that the rotor isnt centered, but it is!

I might do the rears. I just dont see much reason for doing them. They arent going to do much. I'll do them if I get bored.

FYI. It's the increased diameter of the rotor that makes the bigger diff in stopping power vs # of pistons or their size. Especially in this case. So while it might not seem like the rears do much, they actually do alot to get you the world class braking the G is known for.

On that note Jeff, at the risk of sounding ignorant to the G (I am), are there options to simply get bigger rotors with adaptors on the cheap for G's?

Or is that just a stupid idea

Well it's really tough to fabricate adaptors for rotors that have the same offset. Racing Brake make some brackets but they aren't cheap.

I simply just bought a set of newer 350Z brakes that came with rotors, pads, calipers etc... You get the front/rear rotor upgrade anyway. And that was just a little more than a full set of new rotors/pads for the 03 G.
