Stillen Or JWT ?

Just recently got a Z midpipe and i want to get an intake but i am debating on which one to choose, i know there hella post about this but i want some of MY questions answered.

Stillen or JWT.
i want power and sound
i heard stillen gives you 2hp and jwt just gives you sound

2hp wont make a big difference but is it worth it? do i still get a good sound coming out of it?
is the sound the same as the jwt or is jwt better in sound? what about power

is heat shields important or not so much ?

OF COURSE w/ a Z-tube.

someone please answer ALL my questions
thanks

From my understanding, better noise with the jwt, but stillen less prone to heat soak due to better heat shield. I believe some have done a jwt with a stillen shield.

I have the JWT, and the heat shield is essential. DO NOT pick up a popcharger without a heat shield because you'll end up losing power due to heat soak. The sound is great on the JWT and it really makes the engine roar. I don't have Stillen so I can't compare sound, but from what I've read the power difference is negligible. The 1-2 whp gains are mostly due to the Z Tube because of the lack of restriction that you have with the G Tube resonators. A new drop in filter will net you just as much power as a JWT or Stillen at a fraction of the price. That is, if all you are looking for is power.

Power difference for stillen is directly related to heatsheild IMO.

Noise difference for JWT is strictly the style of filter. If you put a JWT filter on the stillen it's be the same noise.

Food for thought, I recently modded my intake, IMO, this is the best option for a N/A G35. I will upload pics I'm not at my home computer, but I removed all the baffles and epoxied the holes, and installed a Z tube and a high-flow filter.

The stock air inlets and intake is no joke, it's a very, very nice setup. Remove the power-limiting baffles that are there for noise suppresion, and you gain power, and the noise you want, while still utilizing the VERY capable stock intake setup.

then if you want more noise, put a muffler/exhaust on.

^^ I have had both above said filters, I am running the Stillen intake with z-tube and recently, due to not being able to buy another individual Stillen filter, I bought the JWT filter element. TunerMax is correct in stating that really the only difference I could tell is the JWT filter has a filter element in the end as well and the Stillen is a chrome cap at the end, slightly altering the sound.

have you considered other brands of intake like takeda and fujita? i was considering the JWT and stillen but went with the fujita. I have it in powdercoated black and it looks great, sounds great, and doubled my horsepower: https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...e-systems.html
