well back when i had my Altima a deer decided to kamakazi infront of my car and i did everything i could in the book to try and avoid it but long story short, the hood has to be OEM ... state law but besides that everything else wasn't, it came out to 3500 if i remb correctly for the insurance to get everything

+1 doesn't look like the airbag(s) deployed so it wasn't too bad. glad your wife made it out safely!

It is your right to ask, but not the insurer's responsibility to comply. All Insurers in Ontario are bound by the Ontario Automobile Policy 1 (https://www.belairdirect.com/english/pdf/oap1eng.pdf)
See the Statutory Conditions starting on Page 50. Page 53 reads:
"New of Aftermarket Parts: The Insurer may repair, rebuild or replace the property with new parts provided by the original equipment manufacturer or with non-original or rebuilt parts of like kind and quality to the property that was damaged or lost."
