Control Arms + Tie Rod Repair Quote Question...

Hey everyone,

I have a 2003.5 G35 Sedan with 207,000 miles. I currently have Tokico d-spec shocks and 05 350z springs.

I recently got quoted for a suspension repair that included the following...

Tie Rod End, Inner - Replace

Remove and Replace components as required to access and install materials, and/or perform needed service. Retest and verify repair as required. Perform final road test where applicable.

Inner Tie Rod End

2.00 Units = $63.98/Unit = $127.96 Total
Labor = $157.23

SubTotal = $285.19

Control Arm Lower - Replace

Remove and Replace components as required to access and install materials, and/or perform needed service. Retest and verify repair as required. Perform final road test where applicable.

Right, Lower, Front Control Arm 1.00 Units
$263.47/Unit

Left, Lower, Front Control Arm 1.00 Units
$263.57/Unit
Labor = $294.81
SubTotal = $821.85

Alignment - Non Euro-Sport
Labor = $72.14

Total = ~$1200
I know I can find the parts on ebay for better prices, how does the labor price sound? Too high?

I replaced my headlight bulbs and took some pictures to show the wear/tear. I think one of the springs looks to be worn out, can someone tell me if it needs to be replaced.

I apologize for the large pics.

1. I think this is the bushing that is worn out? It's supposed to look inflated, correct?

2. I saw this line (I think brake line) that was "rubbing" against the shock absorber, is this an issue? There was a decent amount of slack, and not really any wear/tear on either part.

3. The bottom of this spring looked "flaky," is that just really dirty or does it need to be changed?

Haven't really kept up much with this site over the past 4-5 years, but I'd appreciate any help y'all can throw my way!

With a lift, changing the 2 inner tie rods and 2 lower control arms should only take 1 hour. Looks like they are charging you 3-4 hours!!!
