z/g combo
z/g combo
i have a 2004 g35 rwd sedan and a friend of mine gave me his 2004 g35 coupe struts springs and shocks. i just bought 350z front springs to put on the struts. the shocks and struts have 20k miles on them. is there anything i should be worried about when doing the swap? and ive heard g35 coupe and 350z have the same struts and shocks is this true?
I would check the faq thread, because different years of z, coupe and sedan had different shock specs. Z springs will lower a sedan 1", coupe springs will lower a sedan 1/2". A common thing is z springs front, coupe rear for an even drop.
All Z fronts are the same, coupe rears are same til 2005 when they introduced stiffer sport springs.
Proceed as planned for a nice even drop; use the coupe shocks on the rear as well unless you have the sport (red) sedan springs. You WILL need a spring compressor to put the Z springs on those front shocks.

so how'd the lowering go? this thread really got me more interested in lowering my sedan so i'm going to being getting all the parts together starting this coming up week. trading a guy a greddy air diversion panel for z front springs and cash. just gotta find some coupe rear springs, shocks, and struts. definitely let me know how the car rides with this setup. from what i've read, with the z/g drop you maintain your ride quality and that's what i'm really interested in. also, let me know if your camber is effected any if you don't mind.
