No longer a Drug Dealer!

No longer a Drug Dealer!
Well when I bought my car a while back, it had these ugly chrome pillars between the windows. It had been puzzling as to what it was. I didn't know if it was a whole piece or painted or whatever. But it really annoyed me as I felt like a drug dealer with all this chrome. The only person I could think would like this is Blue Dream
So i finally figured out that it was just some ricer part put on with double sided tape. So I used a similar process to debadging the car. I heated up the chrome pillars with a hair dryer and used a 3M trim removal tool (3$ from Pep Boys) and peeled the chrome off. It left a lot of residue so I used goo gone and rubbing alcohol to clean up the pillars. This is how it turned out.

I might color match the handles eventually, but the chrome trim is definitely staying. On lighter color cars I think black trim can look good, but IMO having black trim makes the car look older, outdated, and not as luxurious. Maybe its just me, but I like the contrast of the chrome trim.

Totally agree with the above comments. I'm happy how the shiny parts of my car flow so well together, but I'll admit I'm not a big proponent of lots of black with LS. It seems to detract from the class that LS brings to the table.

No worries. Those were one of the first things that I ended up ordering when I got my car too lolol. Didn't find out about this site until a little bit later when something went wrong with my car. I actually still have them on cause they don't look horrible, but i'll probably end up taking them off later.
