I love the e46 series... they look sick with angel/demon eyes, and the M3 is my fantasy car... someone mentioned they do 13's all motor and that is correct, i believe I read the e92 m3 can run high 12's from the factory and that the 335i's are a close run with the M3's... congrats on your purchase. Can't say we talked much but I know guys like you keep glued to the forums. Will you still be here with us? And are you going to join e46fanatics? I joined them when I was contemplating buying a 328i before I got my g35, they seem like a decent group too.

If it wasn't for all the down time those cars have it would be a great car. I have yet to hear anything positive about that engine as far as reliability . The son of a guy at my job had one and BMW bought it back when it died on the express way with 500 miles on it... I assume you can at least get a factory LSD by now.

As far as the OP car I love that body style too, its not as timeless as the 1st Gen G35's turned out to be or the previous gen M3 but would I take it off his hands, well yah.

Trust me I know. I've had to drive my fiances car a few times since I bought the Bimmer. In the shop twice within 3 months, 3-4 days each time. The G was only in once in like 4 yrs after my cats got crushed from the blizzard in 2010. I love everything abt the car except the damn bugs. Japanese cars will forever be the most reliable. I'm thinking of buying a high mileage coupe again just for a daily driver. Ain't that some ish??? A G with 150K+ miles is more reliable than a BMW with 25K+ miles.

I would actually prefer to drive my currently G over the 328i any day. The G although may not have the finesse of the 328i but it does have a lot of characters especially the VQ engine. I hate to use the cliche but the 328i just does not have any "soul". I was driving it as a loaner while my M3 at the dealer for some oil change and couldn't wait to give it back (the 335i would probably be another story but I have not gotten the chance to drive one).
Anyone with the VQ I strongly recommend the Stillen CAI, Z tube, and plenum spacer which in total add a few hp but the best part is the sound. I would rev it up just to hear the engine especially above 4K rpm.

The first G not only has the look but that's the car that forced BMW to up the ante on their 3's. Lately I feel like Infiniti has gotten away from the original formula that had worked so well for them.

Wouldn't they have to give you a loaner if the car is being serviced under warranty?
I agree as far as reliability, my G sedan has almost 100K miles and not a single problem so far. By the way, I found that Castrol Syntec seems to be the best oil for me. The other oils just don't seem to have the smoothness in the upper rpm range.
