Update: Over two months now and the airbag light hasn't illuminated once!!

Ref identifying the fault code, when I was initially troubleshooting this, 19 times out of 20 no fault code would be stored and the system gave me the "normal" code.

I would venture to say that the vast majority of the random/nuisance airbag lights that people are experienceing are simply due to poor connections at the connectors.

Cheers,

So you think that the no fault code is the connector losing a connections. Then somehow gaining a connection?

Telling the system "hey there was a problem, but this p.o.s found a way to fix it, and I might see you soon!"

My SRS light started to come on after the recall was done too. I noticed it only happened when there was weight on the passenger seat which is weird because I get a code 22. I researched that and it said its either the connector or airbag module on the driver's side. I was able to reset it and turn it off before but now its just on. I called the dealer after and they wanted to chg me to diagnose it. They also said it could be the module which costs over $600. Really annoying that they won't check the connector for free because it was fine before the recall. I would like to get this fixed ASAP and the cheapest way possible. Maybe I'll try to look at the connection. Should the battery be disconnected when unplugging the connector?

I think it's a scam.

I would take the connectors apart and put them to original state and clean them.
I heard you should disconnect the battery, but 99% of the time you dont need to.

I think il try checking the connector under my driver seat and maybe even cutting the connector out completely and buying a different style connector .
If i do.. il take pics and video ..
My airbag light has been on steady for at least 6 months .so hopefully this fixes it .

I recommend dialectic grease to anyone with these intermittent issues. The recall was supposed to help with connection movement due to loose tolerances in the plug. By filling the plug with the dialectic grease, I believe I have eliminated any chance for movement.

The light has not been back on since my last update earlier in the thread.

I have had 3 different codes. Once it was one code as I was driving than change to another.

Atleast 5 times had NO malfunction.

Then The system is malfunctioning (yesterday)

Another was like 1 or 2, 1.5sec blinks.......

Im really ready to get rid of this car. My mod bug is done!

Yikes! I feel your pain. Ya you're going to have to try to narrow that down a bit.
Here's the link to the page that deciphers the Air Bag System trouble codes;

http://infinitihelp.com/diy/common/i..._diagnosis.php

I was very intermittently getting the flash code for the LH Side Air Bag Module. Inspecting/cleaning/tightening the connector for that airbag under the drivers seat as described in my earlier post fixed it for me.

I would recommend doing both. My code pointed to the passenger seat occasionally. The rest of the time it was intermittent. I did the passenger and that failed. I then did the driver and no light since. If you have the tools out do both. Its not worth doing it a second time. And again I recommend dialectic grease for the connector. Great stuff.
