Wasn't an '05 manual a REVUP engine? How did he manage to do the swap?

But yes best would be to take trip to the nearest autozone and get a free code reading.

I don't know if this helps but, my g35 sedan (05 6mt) threw a rod, made a hole in the block( a big one) So I replaced the engine. I originally bought the engine from a dude whom said it came off an 05 g35 coupe so I was like ill take it. Turns out the engine was from an 04 coupe 6mt. So what we did, we just changed the heads from my 05 to the 04 engine. Obviously we took the head, engine to the machine shop etc. I retained my original pieces, wiring, ecu and so on. Works perfectly fine with no issues.

So basically i got the block off an 04 coupe 6mt engine, swapped heads form my 05 6mt rev up and is working fine. I heard to change the oil pump from my 05 to the 04 engine as this would work better with it? Anyone know anything about this?

Thread revival much?
All '03 - 06 (+ '07 Coupe) cars with the 5AT (including 04-06 G35x) are the standard DE
'All 05 - 06 (+ '07 Coupe) 6MT cars are RevUp DE (The RevUp was ONLY with 6MT cars)
2007+ Sedans are the HR (and later VHR)
2008+ Coupes are VHR
