Speaking of oil filters, anyone done an oil filter relocation? I'm thinking about the GTM, but they don't sell a kit. I would have to piece it together. Search turned up nothing useful.
Thanks in advance.

Why?

Unless you're planning on doing some serious modding to your motor, why would you relocate it...?

The oil filter on these cars is actually in a fairly easy to reach place.

Because I can't leave anything alone. Also, for whatever reason the aluminum under tray that I bought won't let me get the filter out through the access panel. I have 2006 G35x and the sway bar is all kinds of in the way.

I wouldn't do it unless you really have to. It ends up causing issues more often than not, and don't go cheap. Cheap kits leak.

Purolator Pure 1 here.

SOmetimes the parts store sells the 5-quart bottles cheaper with a fram filter (under $4.99) so i just grab a random fram and get a few bucks off.

When i get 5-7 of the fram filters i toss them on Ebay for $10 or so and get some cash back.

I use the oem Maxima filter because it's larger. Religiously change oil myself every 10K miles with mobile1 topping off when necessary. I'm now at 180K miles and motor runs like new. Other than changing belts and plugs, not a single issue yet.

I don't care what a motor oil is rated for. I would never go over 5,000 miles, even with full synthetic. Glad to hear your car is doing fine, though...

I used to run Mobil1 in my Maxima due to oil consumption issues. I would run it to 5k.
