Weakening wiper arm

Weakening wiper arm
Hi guys,
For a few years now, whenever the driver's side wiper comes back down after its upward stroke, it would leave behind a massive puddle of water that blocks my view. I've tried changing wiper blades and cleaning the windshield, both of which will temporarily & superficially alleviate the problem, but never fix it long term.
The other day I took the car to my local windshield shop and the tech guy said that the driver's side wiper blade is basically "hydroplaning" when it's in the downward stroke, and that that is happening because my wiper arm (not the blade itself) is weakening.
He then suggests that I 1) apply aquapel, and 2) get the Motomaster Precise-Fit wiper blades.
My question: has anyone used Motomaster Precise-Fit? It's supposed to provide more pressing-down pressure than traditional blades. Also, is there any way of tightening that wiper arm?
Thanks!

Bosch ICON
or Valeo Ultimate.
A little Rain X helps too. You'll be alright using Rain X as long as you're using silicone wiper blades.

Thanks for the reply.
I currently have Rain-X beam blades (not sure which model) installed and at first they did help quite a bit, but the effect has gradually disappeared. Getting quality wipers (or anything tech or auto-related) in Vancouver, BC is a major headache. We get sub-par products at the same, if not slightly inflated, prices compared to people south of the border...sigh...
I'll try to hunt down the Bosch Icons you recommended.

If the wiper arm is weak, why try a band-aid solution?
Have you inspected the arm? There are springs which give the arm is't tension. I've never heard of them weakening however. Damage is a possibility though.
I'm not sure I beleive the tech's diagnosis. For that to happen, the wiper would have to travel at a high speed, and it would require quite a bit of water to be on the windshield. I would be cautious and do my own investigating.
