I put mine in the center console. I am using a windshield mount as well, just run it to the right of the shifter, hanging in mid air. Much less bother some than the ashtray one. Barely notice it. of course if you're concerned about style that's something else.

 

I mean id prefer to not have a cable running along my center console. It's just amazing to me I cant find a charger that is made low profile. So dumb
