Hey everyone - last night my 2003 AT was towed away from in front of my own house! Damn HOA, I think I might light the clubhouse on fire.
Anyway - enough venting. Can the towing company screw up the car (as in the tranny) if they tow it improperly? It's going to take all my will power not to lay into the poor person at the cashiers window when I go to pick it up, but I want to make sure they didn't mess it up when they towed it.

How come it was towed in the first place if it was in front of your house? But honestly tow truck people could give a S&^% less about other peoples cars. The way they put the chains underneath could mess some things up. Sorry to bust your bubble but maybe if there are things that are broken, you could settle something with them. Not sure though. Just my .02
Man - the home owners association has a rule about no overnight parking on the street. I know I know - I just would have never guessed something like that would be enforced so often. The kicker is that I normally pull it into the driveway, I happened to forget last night and yep - get 'er done hillbilly makes $135 off my mistake.

Dude, your neighbor must have call the security or Cops on you. Must of HOA will just issue tickets and unless you violate the rule constantly they will not try to tow your car. I have neighbor like that from the last community I lived in. I'm not sure if they are racist as we are the only Asian in the all white community or just jelious as we have the finest car in the block.

Thats a bummer, make sure you look it over well. as others have said they don't care about your car. if you do find damge you will have a hard time proving it.
As for why it got towed, the tow truck was probably out on patrol. It's in their best interest to tow as many cars as possible. I had a jerk off tow my car from a parking lot in which I had a parking permit to park in. They still wanted me to pay eventhough it was their mistake. It took me calling the police to make them release my car. About 6 months later I got my revenge He he!

You better hope your car wasnt towed from your front with your rear wheels on the ground since it's a rear wheel drive car. Hopefully they raised both ends up.

Yes your car can get messed up if the e-brake/parking brake is engaged and the car is towed with the rear wheels on the ground (with car in gear/park). Certain automatics can also get messed up if they are towed even when in neutral.
Something to think about - in my state, if there are no signs posted indicating a tow zone and towing company and your car is then towed, you can actually take legal action against the towing company......meaning no towing charges and possibly damages against the towing company. You should check the rules in your local area. If it's anything like my state, you might even want to report it stolen and have the towing company explain to the police why they towed the car illegally.

If the towing co. is reputable and know what the hell they're doing, they would have put the wheels on dollies.
Check for damage underneath (front and rear).
