They will stay lit until I shut the car off and turn it back on. . . But sooner or later they will come back on

Do you have staggerd wheels/tires? The X model is fussy about that.

As I read through the forums using the search function, there is more than one option. Might be your brake fluid that is low (that is what happened to me, so if it comes on randomly cruising around it might just be that), or if there is a speed sensor that's gone...

I'm not staggered, I have an 06X with my stock rims and tires on for the winter, here in NY can't mess up the summer baby's with all the salt lol and high snow levels at some points, but ill deff have the sensors checked and the break fluid checked as well... Theres no check engine light on so that's what's making me think its not a sensor. I just changed my crankshaft position sensor about a month ago but that's because it threw the check engine light on so I knew exactly what was going on...

Come to think of it the break light (e-brake) gets thrown on too when the lights do too but then the break light will turn off and leave the VDC OFF light and SLIP light on so it might be the break fluid, I'm leaning towards that one, which is the best break fluid to use (recommended) 06 X ?

IIRC DOT 3 is recommended by the manufacturer. It's written in the owner's manual, pretty sure its DOT 3...
