I had my headligths stolen twice in 3 weeks!! and i got my sedan two months ago frustrating.I did some research and apparently it is happening a lot here in southflorida (west dade). It only took the bastards abouth 30 seconds to do it, now i know why we have some of the highest insurance rates in the country.

Yeah a lot of Nissan's with HID's have that problem. There's not much you can except try and catch them in the act and/or park in safer locations. You can probably find your set on ebay.

Headlights they want the HIDs, find better parking, get a better alarm,or sleep in the car. LOL They were doing that around my area too until 2 kids 17, 18 got shot while trying to steal a 2 sets of HIDs from 2 Escalades, that kinda killed that spree....

I had my lights stolen about 2 months after I bought my g35. Two things to note:
A)I saw them do it.. so they only got one light.. damage was done though.. $4500 to fix (only a 500 deductable..but still)

B)I put a Viper alarm with proximity on the front bumper... so if you get within a foot, it goes off.

It's a bad problem here in Miami.. real bad.. they need to start making HID standard on the Civics so the riceboys can stop stealing them.

I almost got the guy , the car was parked right outside my house in my driveway, i heard something ran outside , ran after him but he was to quick,he go away in a older two tone gs 300 lexus.the headlights (I mean the whole assembly)are only held together by three plasic brackets very easy to break.First time it was about 2300 dollars,500 deductible, this time i suspect it is going to be a little more ,i think they migth have to replace bumper.

Some of my neighbors have turned their garages into workrooms or gyms etc. I have a smaller house and would love to do that also. However, I sleep more peacefully knowing my car is safe, parked out of sight in my garage. And, just in case they manage to get my garage door open...They wiil be visited by me and my GLOCK!

I believe Nissan issued a retrofit for the Maxima headlights and if brought in they would install something that makes them harder to remove. I don't know if they've done the same with the G35 but it might be good to either inquire or get the ball rolling about it.

You said the assembly was held together by 3 plastic brackets. Are they simple enough that a metal one can be machined? Perhaps the metal might just be enough to slow them down so you can get outside with a bat and bash their skulls in.

So let me get this straight... these thieves are just prying off the entire headlight assembly from the front just for the HID bullbs. What kind of damage is done to the fenders...or paint when this is done?
