03 Infiniti G35 Sedan Daytime Running Light issues

Sorry if this has been posted I couldn't find anything when I searched.

The passenger side daytime running light on my car only seems to work sometimes. The drivers side always works its just the passenger side that is having the issues.

Has anyone had any similar issues? I appreciate any feedback

Bulb is probably done.

Get a new one! 7443 bulb from Autozone or Pep Boys.

Daytime running lights? I bought my car used ('03 sedan) and didn't know it had these. Was this an option or a Canadian model? Or are both of my bulbs burned out?

Its a canadian thing.

basically the DRL (prior to the new LED strip DRL's coming on everything these days) was to power the high beam @ 50% power.

My 04 has the same problem, passenger side.I'm thinking it might be the module because if I turn the high beams on,which powers the same bulb,it works every time.It is also an intermittent problem.

Interesting... I would still try replacing the bulb. It could just be that the bulb is starting to get worn out, and is noticeable in the DRLs before the high beam.

Well found the problem thanks to google. The module has a flaw,in my opinion. When I removed it and took the cover off I could see the bad solder joint on the circuit board by the discoloration around it.Then while looking at the inside of the cover a scrape and a hot spot were evident where that connection was made.So I used a solder gun and resoldered it then carefully ground down the terminal so there would be no pressure on it when I put the cover back on.Works perfectly now.The module is located beside the power steering reservoir and unclips and unplugs easily.Once off simply remove the cover.Mine cracked slightly but nothing to worry about.Cheers

Can it be changed by getting in through the wheel well? I need to change to winter wheels anyways so that might be an easier way?

Thanks!!

Required in Canada.

If you live in the Southern US you'd prob never see one. Northern US might see one if someone makes a trip over the border

Yes you can access the bulbs from the wheel area, you need to pop the plastic cover of course...

After ten years of ownership, I just found out the other day that the headlights come on very dim when the parking lights are turned on. I guess I've never been outside the car in front when the parking lights happened to be on. My driver side light does not come on but the passenger does. No idea if intermittent or not. Is this bulb separate from the low/high beam?

Edit: Bah. Earlier this morning that light was coming on the passenger side, it was quite dim but it was on. Just tried again and neither turn on. High and low beams work, not gonna worry about it I guess.

DRL module's on all Nissan's are famous for bad solder joints. Take apart, re-solder, reassemble, enjoy.
