Vibration -Rotors and /or Ball Joint?

Having a hard time diagnosing a problem with vibration. When i brake, i get the usual vibration in the pedal thats associated with warped rotors, but there is also movement i feel up through the shifter. Theres also some intermitent vibration not associated with braking from the front. There is no noise, just irritating, noticable vibration. All the shocks feel good and stiff. I'm thinking it may be a bad ball joint. Going to jack it up, pull wheels, and do a physical inspection of suspension components. Anyone have some ideas or experience anything similar. I don't want to overlook anything. Thanks.

GL. I just ended a 14 month search for clunking noises and one problem was the inside bushing on the transverse link, the more annoying rattle ended up being the compression rod ball joint. After that experience, I would say if it was a ball joint, it would be a loud clunking annoying as hell sound over bumps.

That said, my front brakes are fairly crappy and do pulsate. I know that sometimes I have my hand on the shifter and it seems to move with the pulsing, but if I take my hand off it stops.. So it is just my arm moving with the pulses vs moving with the car.. if that makes any sense.

I had severe vibrations when braking and it was because my bushings were so bad (lower arm and compression rod), once I replaced them the vibrations were gone.

How much did it cost to replace the two? Parts + labor?

I bought whiteline bushings and did the labor myself.

It sounds like your brakes to me, but definitely check out the bushings!

I definately think the brakes are contributing facter, but there is definately something else there. Bushings sound like a possibility. It is a 2004 with 118,000 miles on it.

Yeah you definitely could have warped rotors as well.
