now if anyone can recommend a cool trip computer that isn't a tacky piece of garbage, it would be appreciated.
That was my feeling about the trip computer. When I finally picked up my New G, on my way home I went to check the trip computer only to find it did not have one. I was very disappointed . It might be silly but I really enjoyed that feature on my 02 Maxima SE, and I assumed that the G35 would have it as standard. I also miss the heated steering wheel (I used it more than the heated seats in my Max on those cold winter mornings).

I have nav in my G35 and don't use it that often. However, it's proben invaluable for the times I have needed it. In my opinion, it's worth the money and should be a good selling point when it's time to trade-in/sell the car.
I actually used my Garmin once on a commuter train just to measure it's speed on the way to work.

window seat on plane

you can also get your true airspeed with a window seat. my etrax vista shows that most flights average about 450 mph.

I'm not familiar with the etrax but the programming in my Garmin was DESPERATELY looking for a road to traverse while on the train.
