Camber wear or cupping wear on front passenger tire *alignment results picture*

Can someone analyze my alignment and tell me what's going on? I can hear the tires at freeway speeds, well basically even at crush speeds as well. I see some cupping going on as well.

2003 G35 Sport Sedan. 125k miles. I see red shocks all around which I'm assuming are original. How can you tell if shocks are worn? It's not blown as I've read that is obvious. Is that causing my car to sit low enough to effect camber, and also cause cupping?

Seing if I need to buy tokico blue hp or not.

Blown shocks don't affect ride height. Springs do.

Springs with high miles and age can sag over time. Is the ride height modified?

Refer to page 16 for alignment and height specs

Thanks for the link. Suspension is not modified. What can cause tire cupping on inside?

Any other things that may effect camber reading?

You should telll us which tire (s) you have problem. You right camber is out of spec which will cause excessive wear, but not cupping. But if the shock is gone on that wheel, you will see cupping also. How do you know the wear is cupping?

Cupping is generally caused by worn shocks.

I can see cupping on passenger front wheel. What would consider as a shock being "gone"?

I know people sometimes push down on front fender to see how much it bounces up and down but it seems not so obvious.

What year and how many miles you have on your car? I presume your shocks are factory ones. In the old days before the struts, it's easy to tell worn shocks by pushing down on each corner to see any excessive bounce. But modern strut car is stiffer with the spring and shock as one piece. Your right camber is way of spec. This should be fixed first.

how old are your compression rods?

i've gotten two alignments in the last two year and both of times the passenger front came out "red" like yours. the dealer mech said my compression rod is somewhat worn and he won't be able to get it aligned until i fix it..

tire wear is pretty much fine on my car, so i never fixed it..

I would check the compression rods, or any other bushings to make sure nothing is worn out too badly. Even if they're able to get it in spec on the rack, once you start driving it everything will get out of whack with bad bushings.

You need to find an independent brake/alignment shop in your area to check out your suspension. We can only guess at what is causing the wear to your tires without looking closely at your suspension. With 125K miles on your clock it could be a few parts worn out. Your sedan didn't come from the factory with red shocks, someone has replaced them. The life of shocks average around 50 to 60K miles depending on where you drive....Gary
