Autopage alarm & starter installed = Failed headlight?

Question Autopage alarm & starter installed = Failed headlight?

I had someone install a new alarm system and remote starter on my 2004 sedan and a few hours later my headlamp on the right side has gone out. When I turn the lights on I see the passenger side begin to glow and then fade away.

I read the FAQ in the interior/exterior section but didn't see anything about this alarm being the possible cause or is it pure coincidence. I wanted to hear from others about the scenario and if it is just my bulb or ballast? I've had the car for three years and I am not sure if these are the original or not.

What is my next move? Can someone link me to a reliable site to purchase a set of bulbs from? Is there any troubleshooting I can do to test this bulb? Any feedback would be great. Thank you.

Take the bulb from the opposite side and put it in the side that isn't working. This will tell you if the bulb is the problem. If it is burned our try Ddmtuning for bulbs that are less than $20 a pair for d2r hid bulbs.

Let me ask you one more thing, is taking the bumper the only way to change the bulbs. It looks impossible to get to the bulbs.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
They can be accessed through the wheel wells. I take off my wheels to get to them but a lot of members just jack up the car, turn the wheel all the way to one side, and then undo the fender lining.

Oh, one more thing. Do you think the alarm install could have anything to do with this bulb failing? I see it flicker when I turn it on but goes off right away.

I do it without jacking the car up. But it is a pain in the ... I have a similer problem right now, My driverside light turns on then all of a sudden it just goes out. But as soon as I turn the lights off then on again it comes back for a while. I also noticed that when I tap on the headlight assembly it will go out

you'll save a lot of time if you remove the rim. free's up a lot of space. I just had to do it, but I have 20's on mine.

If you don't have a jack, sears used to sell a hydraulic jack with 2 jack stands for $50 or so. Was a great deal and highly recommended for anyone who plans on working on their car once in a while. I'd recommend buying another set of stands. They were $20.

So for $70 (you don't need to buy all at once) you have the basic equipment to get your car up in the air off all 4 wheels and do stuff like tire rotations, oil change, trans fill/drain, rear diff fluid service, brake bleed or just admire your car a foot higher than it normally sits.
