I'll bet you guys cry the loudest when something goes wrong, too.

It's not "trying to figure out what the least they can do to maintain the car". It's about money and conveniece. It cost more (sometimes a lot more) to do things at the dealer as I'm sure we all know and it's a pain in the A__ to have to bring my car into a dealer and either wait for them to finish or get a loaner. Some of us have to work, you know. Not to mention many people don't have a dealer close to them. Personally, I like to changed my own oil, I know what I'm doing and it's more convenient (there are times when I changed my oil at midnight in my garage because I couldn't sleep).

What does having to work have to do with it, do you work 24 hours a day? Doing this stuff yourself is all well and good if you have a place to do it. It's more of a PITA doing it yourself IMO!

Is the dealer open 24 hours a day? Even if they are, after a hard days work, I guess you like going to the dealer instead of home to your family? And you don't have a garage and an oil pan?
It's all good if you like to pay the dealer to do it for you, just don't tell me that I have too also or my warranty is no good.

guys, look in your owner's service manual. that states what Infiniti (who warantees our cars, NOT the dealer) requires for service. dealers will always "recommend" more, they are a business so you can't blame them for that.

if you don't have a manual check out infinitihelp.com. they have all the service schedules in there. if you want to do the work yourself, or take your G to an independent shop, just save all your documentation and do the required maintenance (by Infiniti).
