Brake Pads
cheap aftermarket rotors, cheap aftermarket pads, why does it squeal?
lol.
Get some decent stuff and it won't squeal. Brand is not crucial. Most auto suppliers have a tier system of quality, economy, mid range, and premium, something to that effect.

I tried EBC "green stuff" pads (ate rotors like candy), HAWK HPS pads (worked great until it got cold and wet then it was like no brakes at all), so I went back to OEM. I don't track, but I do make a "spirited" run now and then and they work fine, no dust, and the rotors last a long time.
I'm probably thread jacking, but does anyone know a website to purchase the OEM pads? I've looked all over but cannot find the actual OEM ones. Most of them say OEM, but it's just OEM spec. Even some infiniti dealer sites don't have both front and rear. Would Wagner thermoquiet's be a good replacement if I'm unable to find OEM one's?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've actually sourced my OEM parts through Ebay through one of the inifiniti wholesalers there that sells parts. I've bought 3 sets of pads this way. All have been dead silent, and fairly low-dusting.
The 05x in question wears the same brakes as the 03-04 sedan, which are the single piston front brakes and smaller rotors. The RWD 05's got the larger front & rear rotors and 2-piston aluminum calipers.
Is it an upgrade? Not necessarily. While the larger rotors and 2-piston calipers do offer better leverage and clamping potential, the pads were not as aggressive as the 03/04 pads, which dusted like crazy. The increase to a larger diameter rotor and caliper package almost offset the use of less aggressive pads to retain the same braking performance.
So while i tend to praise the OEM pad as a good, all-around, street pad, i can't say the same about the 03/04 (and 05x) pads. Swapping to a less aggressive pad seemed to have resulted in cleaner wheels, but owners complaining of longer stopping distances.
I know it's a bit late for the OP, but any 03/04 (05x) owner who is about to do a brake job might want to consider an 05/06 brake swap. It's fairly simply and the larger rotors and aluminum calipers will fill big wheels better. The fronts are 12.6" and the rears 12.1"....so beefy rotors for sure.

The '05 G35x has the same rotors and calipers as the '05 Maxima. I put Raybestos ATC ceramic pads and ATC rotors on the wife's Maxima a cuple of years ago. They are quiet, low dust and have great feel when braking. Very good initial bight when the brakes are applied.
