05 5AT Sedan as a rental car

I'm picking up my 05 6MT Coupe in 3 weeks, but today in LA I was lucky enough to get an 05 5AT as a rental car. I've driven several G35's, including a 2004 X, a 2004 Coupe 6MT (low miles, not broken in) a 2004 Sedan 6MT (low miles, not broken in).

I must say I'm very impressed with this sedan, it feels much faster than the previous G's I've driven. It's Twilight Blue with Stone Leather. The interior looks and feels much better than the previous cars, but I don't like the clock being where it is.

Can't wait for my coupe...

What class of car did you request? I looked at the Enterprise web page and the G35 wasn't listed. [No suprise there, I never get the car I actually request anyway. Everything I ask for becomes "or similar" by the time they hand me the keys.]

Yeah, same here, I always get the "or similar" sometimes I think that should be a brand name, LOL, my last rental, from Avis, had expired tags and inspection, oh well, got me a slight discount anyway! I think those that are rentals are few and far between, besides, what is wrong with that, in the 60's, Hertz had a small fleet of Shelby GT350-H that they rented, look what those are worth today!

My friend manages three Enterprise rental agencies in SF. She said they have G35s for rent, but it's the $125+/day category officially for the company. Some people rent them for less (those with higher volume), some for more (those with smaller competition), but that's Enterprise's recommended fee.

I just walked in, no reservation. I needed a big car, and that's what they happened to have. It was $125/day, but I told her it was too much and that I'll take the Kia instead, and she gave me the corporate rate of $89/day.

I upgraded to a G in Detriot a while back for only $11 extra per day over a freaking Buick! That was the best $22 I have spent in a while.

I am posting from my Treo so I can't do a search but look for a tread a few months ago about G you sweat tease. Not the new thread, but the old one.
