Hit a curb

I was driving to work Friday morning and was almost hit by an old man. To avoid hitting him I slammed the brakes and slide into a curb at about 15mph. After realizing what had just happened I pulled into a spot to see how bad it was. The wheel has serious rash, luckily no leaking. A broken front passenger cv axle, and ruined wheel bearing. The good news is no damage to the suspension components so all in all a came out fairly lucky. When I began looking for the replacement axle they were nowhere to be found. I eventually got a used one from eBay which is better than $700 for a new one. I will post some pics of the carnage when I tear it apart this weekend.

I tried rockauto, car-part, parts geek, dealer direct, etc. They all offered a rebuild service but mine is beyond repair. After it happened I was able to remove the shaft and leave the ends still in the car.
