Bosch Marathon Wipers

So here's what is happening:
The blade has a lot of side to side movement. This is not entirely due to the flex of the blade but also the amount of play at the connector.
That movement, combined with the shape of the end, allows the blade to hit the inside of the wiper arm, and become smashed under the arm. That lifts the arm (and wiper) off the window.

I plan to call Bosch to discuss the problem. Not sure if they will care, but I think it's worth a call to let them know about it.
