2003 G35 A/T shifting lag compared to g37

I currently have a 2003 G35 sedan A/T. I love it but the shift lag sucks when you put it on manual mode and get hard on the accelerator. I was wondering are the 05+ models of the G35 or the new G37's improved at all as far as shifting response from the time you change hte gear to when it actually changes compared to the 03 G35 A/T

No issues with my 05. I do have a grounding kit but really couldn't tell a difference in shifting after I installed it. If you want an awesome shifting experience get a Transgo kit installed, you'll never complain about the shifting again.

I've looked them up. After spending around 800 for parts and labor I would expect it to shift instantaneously and they still don't with the trans go kit.

There is also some lag with the G37's transmission. You can't expect it to shift instantaneously this isn't a dual clutch transmission..

Hmmm, never heard of any lag in shifting with the Transgo, interesting. Care to share where you read that? I do have an Osiris tune as well as the grounding kit and no Transgo, but if I hit the 1-2 shift just right I'll chirp the back tires in MM mode so obviously not much lag there.

All the videos be watched of the trans go on YouTube for the g35 don't show it changing as fast as even the g37s

I just test drove a G37x over the weekend. It still lags.

All automatics with manual mode lag...at least compared to a pure stick car. That's partially the reason why i can't get into using manumatic. 10+ years of only driving manuals kinda makes you bias. I couldn't even tell you the last time i used it in my G35x. Just seems like a pointless novelty.

I've owned my Benz for over a year now...I don't even know how to put it in manual mode. Never tried, never cared

I have to agree with everything said here. When the dealer pointed it out to me, I tried it once and lost interest. Its not the same as driving a manual, so its hard to expect it to act the same.

I can add that the 04-08 Maxima's and TSX's do have the same lag and act the same way. The only car I've driven in manual mode that did shift somewhat like a manual was an Audi my sister brought home for a test drive, but I believe it had a double clutch setup.
