I would think that it is possible if you keep the overall tire circumferences the same (or as close as possible). Would I do it? Probably not the negative things that can happen outweigh the positives. The center diff on most 4wd/awd cars does not really like having different tire/wheel weights, grip levels and offsets. Do you plan on running the same size rims front and back?

Width.....yes.

Diameter...no. Whatever tire sizes you end up choosing, run through a tire size calculator and see if the diameters are the same.

When the computer locks the center diff to 50:50 ratio, the front and rear wheels really need to be the same diameter otherwise damage could possible occur to the differential.

This.

That's why I'm actually looking for a spare tire that will match my set up as well as I don't want to **** up the diff if I need to use my spare.
