Knocking in the engine after warm-up

Has anyone experienced any knocking sound after the car has warm-up to operating temperture? The only time you can hear it is when you put a strain on the engine.....

That doesn't sound good. Why don't you give us some more specifics? Like, what temperature are you warming up from? (ie the temperature outside) and do you NOT hear the knocking when it's still cold? What gear / speed do you have to be in/doing to reproduce this knock?

...Also are you talking about true engine knock with a metallic rattling or pinging sound? Or are you talking about an actual knocking sound? Some amount of engine knock should be expected if you're going to put it under a large strain but it's never a good thing. If it's true engine knock you also might let us know what quality of gasoline you're using.

Any knocking is definitely bad. Call the dealer ASAP and ask them if you should drive it over there, or have it towed. If you continue to drive it with a known knocking condition, they could come back and cause you some grief.

Try installing grounding wires, it'll fix that problem, I hear it also fixes knocking and clunking in the transmission.

And premature aging.

...it must be the poly-oxyl vitamin B5 formula with rejunavating electrode transmitters inside each strand of 8-gauge that slowly replenishes the face's natural cells.

Twice I have noticed engine knock... once with low octane gas (89) and once when oil was near its time to be changed... but it wasn't low.

Check oil level and if abnormally low, take straight to dealer shop. If ok then try higher octane gas (92 or 94) -- if you are running bad gas then it may take more than one fill to remedy. If after second fill it still knocks after the car has had a chance to warm up then..take to dealer.

But I was serious, if ground wires can stop transmissions from "clunking" then it might be possible that it could stop engine knock, perhaps the sparks will fire at a more appropriate time preventing improper detonation.
