Finally at 220,000 miles rear bearing need to be replaced. I am surprised they lasted this long.

Just ordered the parts hope to replace them Tuesday or Wednesday.

That's pretty awesome. Have you owned the car since new?

I had both my fronts fail at 70K miles...same time.

How is she running at 220k? I am very happy knowing that our cars can reach that.

I am interested in knowing what the sound is as well...

I have an odd noise that sounds like a cross between tire noise and running over rumble strips on the highway. It is much more prevalent when over 60 mph and especially when slightly turning the wheel left at highway speeds.

That's pretty much it.

Sounds like a whirring/rumbling noise

Yes, I have owned the car since new. Replaced my fronts at about 150,000 miles because one started to make noise. I drive the car pretty hard.. they lasted pretty long though.

no major issues. Both the transmission and engine are running strong. I have been burning a little oil since brand new. Maybe about 1qt for every 5,000 miles on Mobile 1 full sync.

Other than regular wear pretty solid and reliable. did replace the radiator at 210,000 miles , it had a small leak.

The car is currently on blocks in the yard with some of the stuff already taken apart.

There really wasn't to much noise or sounds. What happened I started hearing some strange noises and stopped to investigate. Noticed that the rear left tire was moving too much when pushed against. Took the wheel off and found the big nut on the drive shaft coming off........... I tightened it and drove home. At home when I took it apart the appears that the bearings are bad. Also the left wheel was hot compared to the other three wheels.

But there was very little noise to say it was failing.

There was some noise before I tightened the drive shaft nut, at speeds between 45mph - 60mph . kind of sounded like what you are describing.

Well, after taking everything apart today, I found out that the bearing was in a very good condition still at 220,000 miles and didn't need replacing. The hub assy is damaged and needs replacing but the bearing was still good. nissan part # (43202-AG000)

When the big nut was lose on the drive shaft and I drove it like that for a while, it damaged the end of the hub assy that goes into the bearing. The bearing it self was still good. Now I am only going to check the nut on the other side of the car and not take it apart or replace it.

I will post some picture tomorrow night of the old bearing and the damaged hub assy.

Just replaced my rear drivers side at 165 kms. Sounded like the world was coming to an end haha.

Seems to be hit or miss on the lifespan of these bearings.

At least its not a crank bearing!

Did the cotter pin come out? I assume there's one there as the other cars whose axles I had to change had one but I haven't looked at the G.

Otherwise was there work done on the back and it wasn't torqued down enough?

I'm just curious about the reason
