Cars that have over 30 miles on them have obviously been test driven. When buying a car like this you run a risk (although i would say a small risk) that the car was abused by test drivers. I know over at my350.com a guy was bragging about being bored one day while his car was in the shop, so he went to another dealership and test driven a new 350z and hammered the hell out of it... So buyer beware when buying cars with 30 or more miles on them.

I had 15 miles on mine which I thought was okay. Of course, I would have like it to be less but no biggie. A friend of mine bought an "new" Accord with 155 miles on it! It was one of the last one for that model year so he had to take it, but he got a really good price on it and it still runs great.

I bought my 2004 at the end of the model year in October and it had 10 miles on it.

Dealers have demos for that sort of thing, I know the dealer I bought mine from did anyway, I didn't just pick a car off the lot to test drive. Also, if it was a demo, they sell it as a demo from my experience.

Last car, 2002 Nissan Altima, had 24 miles (a few which I drove, because I had not intended on buying that particular car), had to get the engine replaced at 38,000 miles from burning too much oil. I didn't buy a few other G's because they had miles, I specifically waited and luckily found the one I got which had no test drive miles since it arrived off the truck while I was purchasing it. By the time you get to the car, it goes through a Pre-Delivery Inspection, and it does get driven, so most guys report 5-8 miles which is about right (car needs to be driven after its made, then loaded into a truck, then shipped in a boat, driven out of the boat onto another truck, into the dealership, then PDI, then you buy it), so it gets some miles on it in that period, so anywhere in the 5-8 range you are probably getting a car that has not been test driven.

Some dealers have demos. In the case with a 6 speed g, they probably don't have to many as demos. Before purchasing mine I test drove a 6speed sdn, but before driving it, we had to wait for a porter to bring it back since he was picking up lunch for himself, then the stupid sales man said oh he was putting gas in it, then I look at the near empty gas guage and said, it must be broken. Anyways, not only did I rip on a car with 10 miles, so did the sales man. They care as much about the car as the guy abusing it on the test drive.

Got my 05 with 28 miles on it, but i know how those 28 miles got there cause I put them on the car in test drive. My rule is 60 miles and I would consider it a "Demo" vehicle since the break-in period is detrimental!

When I Was First Searching For A Blue Maual Sedan I Found Only One In Manual. I Drove 5 Hours North To North L.a..only To Find The Sedan With 2500 Miles On It!!! The Dealer Didnt Even Tel Me --i Noticed It While Haggling Over Price. He Tried To Pass It Off As Normal, But I Wasnt Born Yesterday...i Promptly Told Him My Opinion Of His Business Practices And Left Very Dissappointed. On The Long Drive Home, I Called Discover Infiniti In San Diego...i Got There Past Their Closing Time And They Still Hooked Me Up With A Brand New(no More Than 50 Miles!!) Auto Sedan----compromise!
But Buyer Beware...ill Post Exact Dealer When I Remember Who Tried To Bamboozle Me!

2500 miles! Holy Cow! And they tried to sell it as "new"? Unbelievable! I don't know, but to me that borders on Fraud.

Sorry to say bud, but that is definitely NOT true...Originally my dealership here in NJ was going to get me a Coupe from MD...I was concerned because I thought all those miles would be on there, they told me not to worry because when trading with other dealerships they flat-bed the car over...I'd get on the phone and tell them that you spoke to other dealerships and they said they would never drive the car over...Have a few dealerships in mind so that if they ask, you can pop them with it...Then threaten to walk, they'll be sending a truck out there by the time you get off the phone...

O and another thing...If the car is still over at the other dealership I'd ask if you could go see it there...Reason I say this is because I've heard of dealerships telling customers like yourself that they have to drive it over and thats why it will have 50 miles on it...But in reality it was test driven or a demo car at the other dealership, then they truck it over and sneak it right under your nose...I mean think about it, you won't be there to see them drive it over...They could just truck a demo car over, then tell you it was from them driving it over themselves....Bastards

Got mine with 5 miles on it. I do recall back in the late 80s or 90s.. The dealers would have you drive the car that you wanted it if was on the lot. I was surprised since this added more miles to the car (especially if you said nope not for me).
