I had a muffler shop cut out that rusted part and weld the muffler to the mid pipe with a short piece of pipe. If the muffler or mid pipe go bad I'll have to replace both at the same time, but they're both in bad shape anyways.

Putting a lift in my own garage is one of my dreams. So jealous..

I just sold mine recently but you might see it around downtown.

Took damn good care of her with regular washes to prevent salt build up.

nice garage and lift . My car underside looks similar at 106K. The state of Illinois dumps litterly trillions of tons of salt on the roads even after a dusting . I try to wash my car at least 2 times a week in winter at a touchless wash that cleans the underbody too. I know its not going to prevent anything, but hopefully slows the corrosion process.

I recently developed my first exhaust leak, actually 2 leaks. One small hole in the Y pipe flange to midpipe, and the midpipe had a rusted out hole in the corner. Swapped a 30K mile coupe midpipe and had the Y pipe hole welded. The muffler flange is next to go probably. Looks funny bolted to the rust free midpipe.

I hate salt and the destruction it does to our cars, especially Nissans! Be thankful if you don't live in the salt belt.

I've got 90k on mine and the muffler just broke at the same exact place. I knew it was bad when I got the car 2 years ago. Now I'm on the lookout for a deal on a complete exhaust.

Wow, your undercarriage is way cleaner than mine Mustang. I've got an 03 with 87k mi on it and its not too bad for the most part but there are definitely some parts that I'm going to need to take care of sooner than later.
What part of Mass are you from? I'm still relatively new to the board, we should do a meet sometime!
Also awesome garage/lift, I can only dream of having that one day. It would make life so much easier, the front center jackpoint is a pain to get to sometimes.

Mines a Montreal driven car with two winters. With all the bottoming out, it's really rusted and banged up haha.

Do you need to put the ground back on the muffler bolt?

probably not back on the bolt, but i'll find somewhere to ground the exhaust to.

I should take a video clip of the leak. It has a very unique tone...almost sounds good sometimes. Who needs an aftermarket $900 exhaust when you can just let your OEM exhaust rot out???
