I've had the rotors replaced twice in the front, once in the rear.
3 sets of pads in the front and 2 in the rear.

I've only had to replace the fronts out of pocket once. What a mistake, I should of spent some cash then and gone aftermarket.

Are Brembos really worth the money? This is only my commuter car (no autox or anything like that).

What are others going with? Brand, size, rotors only or rotors and calipers, pads...etc

Upgrading brake components can be extremely cost prohibitive, especially when increasing the over diameter of the rotor in favor of better stopping power.
You will efectively need to replace the calipers/pads, brackets, and sometimes the wheels just to accodate the larger sizes.

unless you've got $1k to $3k to blow on bling....you need to stick with OEM sized Rotors and Calipers to maintain the stock sizes.

I'm in need of new rotors and pads myself (I drive a Maxima) but they aren't TOTALLY shot yet, so i'm holding-off for a bit.

I only plan to replace the Front Rotors, and I WILL buy the Frozen Rotors next.
As far as buying Brembo Blanks or any other Blank type OEM replacement, I don't think anything (with the exception of Frozen Rotors) offer any discernable upgrade to the process or materials that are found in some of the aftermarket name brand rotors. I'm no engineer, but I have yet to see any definitive proof to the contrary.

Don't forget -- the PADS can also make a major difference in how your Rotors wear. I have been monitoring several auto sites on the web, and the MAJORITY of what I see is that HAWK pads are MOST COMMONLY accepted as a sure bet for increased everyday stopping performance and longevity.

Hope this helps.

Drilled & slotted rotors from Nissan dealership (non-OEM)... quoted $380/pair for same diameter as OEM. Hawk pads... $ 120 per set... Total <$1000 CDN dollars, installed.
Sure if you want to go with performance aftermarket with larger rotors, you can easily spend >$2500

The problem, the service manager told me, was what he described as a "degassing problem when the rotors heat up" leading to warped rotors.
The conversions he has done using drilled and slotted rotors in the past year are still ok -- no one has brought back for machining.

The Hawk pads he claims will last longer and there is not as much brake dust produced.

Wanna know why?
Cause the rotors are GLAZED AND WARPED.
When the rotors glaze, the pADS get glazed and this means the friction material cannot wear properly.
Have you noticed that your front brakes don't have NEARLY as much dust on them as they used to??
Classic case.
I personally will not purchase OEM brake components from NNA EVER AGAIN.
Get the Brembos, Powerslots, Wilwoods, OR get these.....

At least he's doing what he can to hold up Nissan in this neck-o-the-woods.
Does this really work? My dealer told me they will do that with the rotors, but didn't mention the pads, what would that be in USD?
