Simple light question on a 2004 G35X (sedan)

Should the orange lights inside the headlight assembly light up when the light switch is turned up one notch? (running lights mode)

Mine do not. Only the orange side marker lights light up and the tail lights of course.

When I use the blinker, the orange lights do blink. But it seems, according to the manual and all other cars on the road, that they should light up when the switch is in "running light" mode.

Please advise.

Thanks! I just could have sworn they used to come on. I pulled the bulb and it is only one filament which would make sense then.

 

On 2003-2004....they are just the blinker.


On 2005-2006, they are dual filament and act as blinker and parking light.

2003-2004 have city lights that should be lit when the parking lamps are on. These were deleted in 2005

Just curious could the amber blinker be made to light up on a 03 04

 

Unsure.

You could try and fit a dual-filament bulb in the socket. You'd need a 3-wire plug harness however. You might be able to source this from an 05-06 G35. At that point, it's merely a matter of tapping in power from the side marker light to power both the side market, and the parking light portion of the dual-filament bulb.

I'm sure it's been done, i just haven't done it myself on a G35. I have done this before on other cars however.
