G35 Bumper and Grill replacement
G35 Bumper and Grill replacement
The front bumper of my G35 was recently rear ended... The collision buckled the hood a little bit but not too noticeable and the grill is no longer intact because the clips that hold the grill to the bumper snapped off. is there anyway to buy replacement clips or do i have to replace the whole front bumper? Any help on this would be very much appreciated!
The grill clips to my knowledge aren't repairable. The bumpers I hear are with a kinda bondo appoxy stuff but then afterwards you have to paint it. What color bumper is it? And is a coupe or sedan? Not to try and be a salesman but it you need a new grill I have one for sale in the market place in perfect shape
It is a 2004 sedan. and i dont think i can put the grill on anyways because the push caps on the bumper to hold the grill in are completely snapped off.. unless you know of anyway to repair those at all?
Those push caps are easy to get either online or possibly at a parts store(I personally haven't had any luck at autozone etc) if you need some to get you by pop the trunk and there should be some holding the lining of the trunk in place. Pop a few off so you can use it for the time being until you order some. Those caps break easily
are the ones in the trunk the same ones that hold the bumper and grill togethor?? if so, than that is a very easy fix! are these them?

yup those are the right clips homie. but the grille has built in "clips" that slide into separate slots.those are on the bottom of the grille while the caps (the ones you found on amazon) go into the top of the grille. but until they ship you can get by with using your trunk extras since like two of the 6 caps back there will suffice holding the trunk lining.
I know exactly what your talking about with the clips on the bottom. the slots are on the bumper, right? well, there seems to be something in it? like plastic that was maybe from the grill? is there a way i can post pictures? that would be a lot more helpful for both of us.
Other than your engine bay needing a serious cleaning and the front end being scuffed looks like the grille is ready to be placed back in. Nothing too out of the ordinary with this one. Is anything bent? Hard to tell
No, nothing is bent that i know of! except the buckled hood but thats about it.. and do you see the piece of plastic inside of the drivers side slot on the bumper? the passangers side slot doesnt have that. any explanation for that? you can see it in the third picture. compared to the 2nd.

Yeah I see it The slot in the corners correct? I wouldn't worry too much about that As long as it slides in at one side as well as the middle slots. Plus it'll have the snaps on up top so it should be in there pretty securely Can't see that left side posing too much of a problem
