Need to replace key fob
Need to replace key fob
I need to replace my key fob in my '05 G35 Sedan. The key itself still works fine. Should I have any problem purchasing a replacement fob off eBay or elsewhere and using my existing key in it (assuming I get the right fob model). Are there good directions on just replacing the fob?
It's the "smart key" fob. My mother-in-law dropped it, and (I'm guessing) the circuit board inside is physically broken. The buttons push all the way in.
Do I need another smart key, or do I just need the fob? My key insert still works fine.

Is it the key that won't work or just the fob ? You can reprogram the fob yourself, usually the seller will have info (most websites or ebay sellers have the details). But if the key is bad, well then you're off to the dealership
Thanks for the response. My hard key works. I have to stick it into the ignition. My remote does not.
Just to verify - if I purchase the right FCC ID of this remote
will I be able to program it for my car so that I don't have to put the key in the ignition to start it?
