Question Passenger Side Door Problems

Hi Guys,

My rear passenger door will not open from the inside. What could be the problem and about how much will it cost me to fix?

it's the 2006 G35x.

Thanks.

Does the interior handle feels different from other doors ? Could be a break between handle and door latch, never done it on my G35 but normally removing the interior trim should grant access to the rod connecting handle and latch...

it is hard to say how much it will cost cause we dont know what is broken. it could be the handle or the locking mechanism. take your door apart and see what is broken.

geez... that's gonna be at least a couple of hours of labor. i hate going to mechanics or the dealer, because they always over estimate the time it takes to do things.

smh.

maybe this is a warranty item. i will cross my fingers, but i'm prepared to get hosed...

thanks!

It literally takes 5 minutes to get the door panel off with a screwdriver. Do it yourself, look inside and see if you can identify the issue. It might be as simple as re-attaching a cable and you'll save yourself a couple of hundred dollars in the process.

Door panel comes off very easily with basic hand tools. 5 min job to pull it off and have a peek.

After getting my windows tinted, i discovered one of my rear doors didn't open from the inside. Took literally 5 mins to take the panel off, see the cable had slipped off the handle lever, and reinstall it. 10 min job start to finish.
