05 G35x wrap in process...!

Hello,

The G35 transformation has begun, it was Diamond Grey before (was nice but....a bit common) a matte white wrap is under it's way, then the top will be made in glossy black vinyl , hood is black carbon fiber. These are the black steel wheel and tires for winter, i have the project for bigger diameter wheels for next summer, unsure about either18 or 19...? We will see that during the winter. I'm alsolooking out for
a set of mild drop springs, nottoo much, just to giveit agood look as the X (awd) is very high on it's stock suspension actually.

Here are some pics...i must admit that the picture of the white G35 on the top banner up here is AWESOME and very nice, it inspired me a bit for mine....this is a very beautiful look (the owner of this one made something very nice with it...! Congrats...!!! )

I'm lucky that my father is quite handy and really like the G35 and cars in general,he also do some automitive mechanics and tuning too, he helped me for everything, he is the one wrapping my G35 actually, which is parked aside from it's 2006 C6 Corvette M6.

And here is my father's toy for the week end....!!! I guess now on our friends will be calling us....Mister Black & White....!

That looks great!

Where'd you get the material and how much did it cost?

Thanks for the good words to all of you...!

My father tried/used /installed many brands of vinyls, he says this one is affordable as far as cost goes, but it might get a shorter life span mainly because it is actually less thick (thinner) than the ones he already tried before. He adds that a thin film is easier to work around curvy body lines with a little bit of heatgun, and that a thicker film needs more heat, and is less forgiving on wrinkles during installation.

This film is manufactured/selled by a company located in Mount-Royal, in Montreal, Quebec, they are called ZedGlobal inc. my father has bought many times from them on ebay, and we even went pick-up some bigger rolls directly at their head office in Montreal Quebec. Compared to 3M brand their vinyl ismuch more affordable, but also much more thin so take care not to put too much heat or you'll melt it down quickly during installation. Shorter life span might also be part of the equation we can't confirm on this as our oldest wrap datesonly back form2 years ago and still looks as new.

If you look for them on ebay try a search for ZGwholesale, here is a link for you, this is the ebay seller.
Their brand of vinyl is named VVivid

or again here....

My father says if you never wrapped a car....expect some sweat and some waste on the material.
Here we used a roll of 60 inch wide (5ft) X about 60 feets long for the white parts of the car with low to minimal waste, cost for the matte white was about 400$.

Then the part of black carbon fiber, same brand, same source, again 5FTx 6FT for the hood, costing is about 80$ for this material.

Then for the black gloss roofing material (it looks AWESOME) we paid again about 80$ for 5FT x6 FT.

Making a total of 560$ for material....and for the labour to expect....well...be prepared as we put about 60 hrs on this project....so you could be looking at about 1500$ of labour if you do have it installed professionally.

Point is: Would we have paid 2K$ for a wrap job....nope....but at 560$ plus our father/son garage time+beer,.....it was a no brainer...!!!

--> Like Richard from Gas Monkey television shows says...i was his Personnal Beer Assistant...!

Got to do what's needed....LOL

Looks nice. You should wrap the door handles white and the window trim black by the way.
