I at one time thought this was wrong and ricey, but not any more. I think if you do it right it is fine and actually looks good. but that is just my opinion. It has grown on me...first it was cool as long as it was from the same make for ex. accord wheels on a civic but now I think if you can find some thing that looks and fits well its cool.

The only thing I can't stand is when ppl do this and leave the original center caps/logos on the wheels. This is ricey, change that shyt to the make of your car...put a sticker on it or something. It looks so ghey when you have a lexus with sick M6 wheels but Fail when you still have the bmw center cap. Even when I buy aftermarket wheels for my cars I change the center caps to make it look like the wheels are stock from the factory... clean and not ricey imo

I think the reason most people put them on is because most oem wheels are subtle and clean looking, I have oem coupe wheels on my sedan and I love them, they dont stand out while at the same time they look good, imo.

The M6 rims can look pretty good on a G........

I have also seen another G on here with M6 rims but can't find the link.

when we went to project 512 show in Austin this was extremely prevalent - i saw an Audi A6 with bentley rims, a Jetta with corvette wheels, BMW with Mercedes wheels etc. i'm thinking it is a new style or perhaps a euro car thing - not really sure.

It's def a newer style and mostly on euros. Corvette sawblade wheels are really popular, so are the bentley and mercedes wheels.

I like it a lot just think it's ghey when your wheels say mercedes and your car is a vw. Just change the center cap.

It's just like when we think a M3 badge on a Mazda is rice.

I don't mind it. Usually oem wheels are far better quality than most aftermarket rims I see on cars anyway.

It's just better if the owner tries to do something about the emblem. Maybe a custom center cap pr something

I've had Porsche, Audi, and Benz wheels on my old GTI. I don't see a problem as long as their not rocking the badge too.

I don't really mind it, provided the center caps are fixed obviously.
Somebody posted a G with Hyundai wheels (of all things) off a Genesis I think... actually looked really good, they just needed to lose the center caps.

I put Genesis Track Edition 19" wheels on my 2006 G35 Coupe. Looks soooo much better IMO. For some reason they fill up the space more without spacers but you don't need to roll your fenders. Best part is you can use your stock tire sizes so no issues with VDC slipping. Just make sure you get hub rings because the genesis rims have a 67.1mm hub center and the G35 is 66.1mm.
