I recently bought my car and I went to go fill it up it was low on gas and I filled it all the way. When I got back into my car and started it it only showed half tank on the meter? Is there any fixes to this or ideas, what could be starting this problem?

 

It could either be the fuel senders or the console. There is a self-test for the console try this:

Hold the trip reset buton and turn the ignition on. Now push the trip button 10 times in about 5sec. This will enter self diag mode. All the needles will drop now push it and hold all the needles should go. halfway. If the fuel gauge needle sticks then you have your answer.

You can also try cleaning the fuel sender's there is a DIY here somewhere. If that doesn't work then it's about 400 bucks in parts to replace. I need to do this on my car as well, since the fuel gauge gets inaccurate.
