Girlfriend is now a G35 girl!
My girlfriend is now the owner of an 05 G35 V6 sedan. I'm wanting to get a little bit more info on these cars. I know a little bit about them, but I'd like to learn enough to make this car last. This car will likely be the car that gets her through school so I'm wanting to get the most I can out of the car. I maintain all of my vehicles, as well as all of my former ex's.
I plan to check the car over and make sure it's not due for a service. I will do the necessary services, and I plan to seafoam it thoroughly. I had a few questions about doing a throttle body cleaning. I have learned that you can't clean it like a normal TB. I don't want to go through the idle relearn process Is there another way to clean it?
Also, what kind of oil do you guys recommend? Car has 125k on it, and I don't know when it was serviced last so I may or may not change the oil just yet.
Anything else I should know or you would recommend I'd love to hear!

A lot of people here like synthetic, Nissan suggests mineral, I go with synthetic blend. 5w30 high mileage castrol to be exact. Really anything you trust will be fine tho. Used to run 20w50 conventional til about a year ago. Only difference is about 2mpg and the blend keeps it a bit cooler.
I would suggest a suspension overhaul. There are a few aftermarket parts that could really save you money on tires in the long run.

I run castrol/mobil 1 or penzoil synthetic with wix/mobil 1/ purolator filters. I run castrol import multi vehicle trans fluid and mobil 1 in the rear diff. I use a/t for power steering and siphon andcrefill it every oil change. I currently have just over 189k on my 05 with 5k oil change/10k trans fluid/20k rear diff fluid changes. It all comes down to basic maintenance and how the person before you took care of it. Someone on here has 300k so they can run for awhile.

If you can locate the previous owner ask them what service has been done. Plugs should have been replaced at 100K miles, all fluids should be replaced every 30K miles. If this sedan is running good forget the Seafoam treatment, you can do more harm than good!! WIX makes the best oil filter and Mobil1 synthetic will work well with this high mileage Infiniti...I'd still like to know what the previous owner used for 125K miles! Seafoam or Plasti-Dip are on the same page, when did these become a fix all?

As requested, here's a picture to show y'all I'm not BSin
The only thing I know about the car as far as service is that it was a one owner and it was bought from the dealership brand new. I'm assuming all the service work was done at the dealership too. I plan to run synthetic in it just because that's what I run in mine. As for seafoam, I only put it in the tank and through the vacuum line, NO oil. I will give it a good overlook and see what it needs.
As for mods, it's only if I get her permission. Or more importantly her dads. Pics will come this weekend as I plan to do the service work and give it a good detail

Be careful putting your money in mods on her car. They go with her in the divorce!

It's really not bad to do it right if you follow the proper steps. Disconnect battery, unplug TB, clean like a normal TB (it'll need it, just wait until you peek at the back side), plug in TB, connect battery, do ECU reset, pedal and TB closed learning procedure (this is really just turning key on/off a few times without starting, drive car around about 10 minutes to warm everything up, THEN do the idle relearn.
