If it is as bad as you're saying, yes, but only when you first start it. Like Texas said, your cats will burn a lot of it off.

Stick the oil in the morning, or after about 5 hours of rest.. one thing these fun but quirky cars is the stick can be 3/4 to 1 full qt off if the engine has not rested like a nice yummy rare steak..

Doesn't everyone love the location of the effin dipstick on the first gen G35s? Not only is it difficult to pull out but finding the hole unless you're outside in bright sunlight requires a flashlight. At about 40K miles I'd already replaced my OE dipstick, buying a new one from Nissan. Second gen is how it should have been designed all along! A blind man with short arms could check his oil level.

HA! yea you have to get it in just right if not you're going to find yourself in trouble.

Yea im having the same problem with my 04 sedan. No leaks. I did have I lil puff of smoke on cold start up an put a oil catch can on it and it stop but still having the oil consumption problem
