Ok so after rereading the carfax i got on the car. The Diff, brake fluid, Drive belts, and trans were serviced at 123k. The fuel system and electrical were also checked. So a nice chunk of my list of things to do are done. All done at the dealer. So all thats left is power steering, oil change, plugs and filters. I just replaced my filters today, and bought the plugs. Im still debating whether i should take it somewhere for an oil change or just do it my self.

As easy as it is to pay someone to do an oil change, getting under the car and inspecting the underside goes a long way towards identifying future problems.

The last time i was under my car doing an oil change, i noticed one of the front CV axle's had a torn boot and was spraying grease everywhere. If i went to a shop, no telling if they would have noticed and/or told me. Depends on how hard they looked around.

Same goes for seeing the condition of the steering rack, oil leaks, etc etc.

I got under mine one day and noticed I was dripping oil out of the oil pan... easy $10 fix I prefer getting under the car and changing my own oil even if its a little bit of a PIA with these cars because of the plastic rock shield and the million bolts to take it off

power steering fluid
inspect/replace belts
Mechanic is asking for $500 for all this including belts replacement but not including engine oil/spark plugs.

What you guys think?

Yeah, but I wanted the dealer to do the trans flush so if there was a problem later, it was covered.

Thats a steep price keep shopping. Look up the DIY sections as everything you said you want to do is probably going to cost you around $125 in parts and spark plugs being the most expensive at $10 a pop. dont be suprised if you have oil in the spark plug hole as I was freaking out when I pulled mine. These cars I learned tend to have bad valve cover gaskets and they should be replaced.
